Gloria Stewart, known as Gloria Stuart, (July 4, 1910 – September 26, 2010) was an American actress and artist. Stuart began her acting career in the theater. In the 1930s and 1940s, she performed in little theater and summer stock on both coasts. Her career in the movies spanned from 1932 to 2004—with a twenty-nine year break. Her iconic film role was the 100-year-old Old Rose in the Academy Award-winning film Titanic. In recognition of this work, she was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress. At eighty-seven she was the oldest person nominated in a supporting role up to that time.
