Lory Del Santo was a protagonist of gossip columns, mainly for her relation with Eric Clapton (who dedicated the song "Lady of Verona" to her) and for the tragic end of their son, Conor.

At 11 a.m. on March 20th, 1991, her four year-old son Conor fell to his death from a 53rd-story window of a New York City high-rise. The tragedy was the inspiration for Eric Clapton's award-winning song, "Tears in Heaven".
