In the summer of 2009, People magazine reported her engagement to screenwriter Lee Kirk. Fischer confirmed this publicly on her MySpace page. The couple married on July 3, 2010. On September 24, 2011, Fischer gave birth to a son, Weston Lee Kirk. On February 25, 2014, the couple announced their second child was on the way.
