John Payne was one of my favorite actors. I loved him in musicals, and if you have never seen "Sentimental Journey", you`ve missed one of the best movies of all time.

John Payne was always a mystery to me. I never saw him age. I`m glad to know that he lived to be an old man with family.He always smoked in most of his films.

John Howard Payne (May 23, 1912 – December 6, 1989) was an American film actor who is mainly remembered from film noir crime stories and 20th Century Fox musical films, and for his leading roles in Miracle on 34th Street and the NBC Western television series The Restless Gun.
