George Randolph Scott (January 23, 1898 – March 2, 1987) was an American film actor whose career spanned the years from 1928 to 1962. As a leading man for all but the first three years of his cinematic career, Scott appeared in a variety of genres, including social dramas, crime dramas, comedies, musicals (albeit in non-singing and non-dancing roles), adventure tales, war films, and a few horror and fantasy films. However, his most enduring image is that of the tall-in-the-saddle Western hero. Out of his more than 100 film appearances over 60 were in Westerns; thus, "of all the major stars whose name was associated with the Western, Scott [was] most closely identified with it."

Randolph Scott and Audie Murphy… does anyone know if they got along?

LawerenceJul 18, 2010

I have managed to collect most of the westerns made by Randolph Scott and spend many hours in my home Theatre watching and reminising about the time his westerns were the talk of the schoolyard here in Aus

Gary M ThomasNov 7, 2009

I have been a Randolph Scott since I saw one of the greatest westerns: Western Union. Since reading this blog I am convinced that Scott was a Christian, like me.

Jim GSep 27, 2009

I`m 72 now and I loved the westerns Randolph did in his career. He help fill a void in my life and he was one of my heros.

Jose AlvesJun 26, 2009

I agree with Jay`s remarks, who knows something on Randolph Scott knows that he was not GAY and on the book written by his son Chris Scott it clears the reason that generated that groundless rumor. All the people that had relationship personal or professional with Randy Scott deny that fact, besides the rumors only appeared after his death.

JudyFeb 19, 2009

I believe Randolph was a great actor. I am a huge fan of westerns. They don`t make them like that anymore.

MaryJan 23, 2009

Mr. Scott is one of our favorite actors. The fact that he was deeply religious, and friend of Billy Graham says a lot for someone in such a negative environment to make a living......

Tom DeMartiniJan 8, 2009

I don`t think that Randolph Scott was gay and if he was then I don`t hold that against him. He was one of my favorit actors as a boy. I am 66 years of age and am not gay.

Randy ChaneyMay 7, 2008

If Randolph Scott was Gay so what, He was one HELL of an actor. As a gay man these days, I don`t like to see people outed just becaus their HOT! I was Outed in High School and My life became a living Hell.

JayNov 9, 2007

Randolph and Carry were not gay.... Rock Hudson, and lots of people were... But that, it`s more less been prooven, was just a rummor, made largly by aging gays in the 60`s and 70`s who wanted to see heroes drug through the mud.
