Daniel Francis Fouts (born June 10, 1951) is an American former professional football player who was a
quarterback for 15 years in the National Football League (NFL), spending his entire career with the San Diego Chargers (1973–1987). He led the NFL in passing yards four straight years from 1979 to 1982 and became the first player in history to throw for 4,000 yards in three consecutive seasons. The Chargers advanced to the AFC Championship Game twice during his career, but never reached the Super Bowl.
