B I O ::::: Playwright/Actor Linda Griffiths is one of Canada's originals, known not only for her work but for the breadth of her career. Her plays include Chronic, The Darling Family, The Duchess – a.k.a. Wallis Simpson, Maggie & Pierre, and Alien Creature: A Visitation from Gwendolyn MacEwen. She is the winner of five Dora Mavor Moore awards, a Gemini award, and two Chalmer's awards. She has twice been nominated for the Governor General's Award (The Darling Family, Alien Creature) and is the co-author of The Book of Jessica, written with native author and activist Maria Campbell. She is adjunct professor to the University of Toronto Masters in Creative Writing Program. Her company, Duchess Productions runs a unique studio playwriting class, Visceral Playwriting.
