"BEAUTIFUL widow Bo Derek, aged 43, has stunned Hollywood by falling for wild boy Kiefer Sutherland - 10 years her junior.
Kiefer, ditched at the altar by Julia Roberts in 1991, has been romancing the sizzling star of the movie 10 in the upmarket beach town of Santa Barbara, north of Los Angeles. An insider said: "Kiefer thinks Bo is wonderful.
"They have been meeting in quiet spots, where they are unlikely to be recognised. They like nothing better than to have a candlelit dinner at an intimate restaurant. They are taking it all very slowly. Bo is just giddy with happiness."
Kiefer, son of Oscar-winning actor Donald Sutherland, was once known as the bad boy of Hollywood. He was arrested for drunk-driving and was in several bar-room brawls. But now he seems to be the perfectly-behaved suitor.
A source said: "They were first introduced when they had a meeting with director Quentin Tarantino to read for a part in his new movie. Something just clicked between them.
"The film seemed perfect for the two of them - it is practically the story of their lives. It is about a beautiful star married to a much older man. He tries to keep her under his control and make her virtually a recluse.
"When he dies, she tries to make a comeback. She meets a younger actor, who had a big career until he burned out. Bo wasn't exactly enamoured by the script, but she seemed thrilled to meet Kiefer."
The plot has a familiar ring for Bo. She was just 17 when she met and married her Svengali husband, director John Derek, who was 30 years older. He died in 1998, aged 71.
Bo sold the California ranch where she and her husband holed up most of the time. She tried to make a showbusiness comeback with the TV series Wind On Water but the show flopped.
Keifer, who is separated from his second wife, Kelly Winn, had a hot career in the early 90s. But his star has faded in recent years.
A spokesperson for Bo Derek said of the reported romance: "She has no comment."
