I beieve we guys liked both Maverick brothres, but we liked Bart more because he didn't stay in a town. He was off in the wilderness, while Bret Maverick hung aroudn the town getting into trouble.
Women found him cuter and playful.
The ratings were highest when the two mavericks got together in an episode.

Kelly was such a wonderful actor in the Maverick series and I think he should have gotten more credit for what he did for Maverick. He was fun to watch, great to listen to and such a handsome man.

They say on T.V. that James Garner is Maverick, But he was only with the show from 1957 to 1960,but Jack Kelly was with It from 1957 to 1962. Ithink he was a better actor, and seemed to do most of the more moving scenes. He was great in Trooper Maverick, The Goose Drowner,You Can`t Beat The Percentages, The Thirty-ninth State, and Pappy just to name a few.
