On 6 September 2014, Blunt married Sofia Wellesley, the granddaughter of Valerian Wellesley, 8th Duke of Wellington. Blunt and Wellesley have two sons, the godparents of the oldest are Ed Sheeran and Carrie Fisher.
They became man and wife in a private ceremony earlier this month.
And James Blunt and his wife, Sofia Wellesley, are now celebrating their union with family and friends as they hold a lavish ceremony in Majorca.
The singer and the blonde beauty have been enjoying a holiday together on the Spanish island for the past few days following their secret nuptials.
James and Sofia, who is the granddaughter of the Duke of Wellington, married at a London registry office, according to the Mail On Sunday.
The pair had attended Elton John’s annual End Of Summer party in Windsor the night before and tied the knot on September 5.
Speaking to the Mail On Sunday, a source close to the pair said: ‘They got married the morning after Elton’s party.’
They added: ‘Sofia joked to friends that she was almost too hungover to get married.’
The happy couple – who have been dating since 2012 and became engaged in December 2013 – then jetted off to Majorca, where Sofia’s parents Lord John Henry Wellesley and Corinne Vaes own a house.
A law graduate educated at prestigious Edinburgh University, Sofia works as a legal consultant for a London based law firm.
Notoriously private Blunt, whose previous romances include Czech model Petra Nemcova, once admitted it takes a resilient character to stay the course with a famous musician.
‘It takes a strong person to be able to deal with somebody working in music,’ he said. ‘It’s hard when you’re with somebody and you become embroiled in something just because you were seen standing next to someone else.
‘It takes a tough person to deal with that and I’m lucky to have her.’
