I knew Yul in the early 70`s when I was about 22. He taught me to be a refined, educated woman and influenced my life greatly. We were together for only a short time but since I have compared every man in my life to him and found them lacking. Perhaps that is why I`ve been married 4 times!

I thought Yul was born in 1915 the same year as Orson Wells and they died on the same day in 1985 aged about 70.

For me it was `the walk`, very animal like and suggestive. His eyes too because you could read them, humor, intensity, anger, and passion.

I Knew Yul the last 10 years of his life. The woman that he talk most of was Marilyn Monroe. Yul was never a monogamous guy. He loved women and they loved him back. The women he married knew he couldn`t be tied down, he let that be known right up front.

It was because of Yul in "The King and I" that I became a language teacher. He dared to be different, and I also strive to do the same. He has been a great influence in my life.

Biography

Yul Brynner (Russian: Юлий Борисович Бринер, Yuliy Borisovich Briner; July 11, 1920 – October 10, 1985) was a Russian-born United States-based film and stage actor. He was best known for his portrayal of the King of Siam in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The King and I, for which he won two Tony Awards and an Academy Award for the film version; he played the role 4,625 times on stage. He is also remembered as Rameses II in the 1956 Cecil B. DeMille blockbuster The Ten Commandments, General Bounine in the 1956 film Anastasia and Chris Adams in The Magnificent Seven. Brynner was noted for his distinctive voice and for his shaved head, which he maintained as a personal trademark long after adopting it in 1951 for his role in The King and I. Earlier, he was a model and television director, and later a photographer and the author of two books.
