Bert and Kate dated for 5 years. After being kicked out of his Mormon home, Bert lived with Kate.
After they broke up, they found out Kate was pregnant. Bert and Kate decided to stay friends and raise their expected daughter, Paige, together. Kate passed away along with their unborn child on July 4, 2004 from a drug overdose.
