He and Corina Morariu, who once had a promising singles career, used to practice one after the other at Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton when they were kids. When Corina contracted leukemia and her life was in danger for some time, one of the people who daily was there for her, whether with a phone call or flowers or a note, was Justin Gimelstob. He’s one of the most giving people in tennis.
When Morariu recovered, they began a romantic relationship and, though it ended some time ago, they are still very close friends.
