Have you ever wondered just what the secret behind the style that makes some of your favorite stars shine so bright? Meet Misa Hylton. From Mary J. Blige, Lil Kim, Missy Elliott and Kimora Lee-Simmons to Sean Combs, Queen Latifah and Usher, Misa is a New York-based stylist who has shaped the images for some of Hollywood’s most famous faces. She is respected throughout the fashion industry for her ability to bridge fashion and lifestyle and has masterminded some of pop culture’s most trend-setting fashions over the past two decades.
Styling collections for heavy hitters such as Baby Phat, Sean John, Korto Momolu and Simone I Smith, Misa has also served as the creative director for Nelly's line Apple Bottom, which became one of Oprah Winfrey's "Favorite Things." Her exceptional taste in fashion and beauty have appeared on the pages of publications such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Vibe, InStyle, Essence and Paper Magazine and has landed her the roles as the Fashion Editor for The Source Magazine and the Fashion Technology Consultant for Microsoft, as well as on shows such as MTV’s “House of Style” and E! Entertainment's Grammy Awards Fashion Wrap With Joan & Melissa [Rivers].
Misa’s drive to make her mark on the world of fashion and beauty led to the creation of Chyna Doll Enterprises, a fashion firm where she manages a team of stylists, providing clients with services ranging from styling and artist development to personal shopping and image consulting. It’s with this entrepreneurial spirit that she developed the concept for her latest project, Misa Hylton Fashion Academy – which provides the knowledge and skill set needed for a successful career in fashion styling.
