In the late 80s and early 90s, the on-screen chemistry of Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit had weaved magic and delivered a number of box-office hits.
Anil Kapoor acted with Madhuri Dixit in a number of films, but the film which created a lasting impact on the viewers for the first time was Tezaab. In Jamai Raja, Anil Kapoor entered into a war of words against Hema Malini, his mother-in-law and the mother of Madhuri Dixit. Hema Malini was proud about her wealth, manpower and property, and Anil Kapoor taught her to be humble and showed her that everything cannot be bought by paying money.
In Kishen Kanhaiya, Anil Kapoor played a double role. One of the brothers was fond of cinema and imitated a number of actors in the film and amused Madhuri Dixit. The film was made in the same line in which films like Ram Aur Shyam and Seeta Aur Geeta are made. Amrish Puri did well in the film.
Last in the league was the one that got Anil Kapoor the national award. The Best actor award for performing in the film Pukar went to Anil Kapoor.
It was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. He was thrown out of Indian armed forces due to false charges brought in by Madhuri Dixit. Later Mahduri Dixit relaised her fault and tried her best to assist Anil Kapoor in his fight against terrorism. He saved a number of citizens from a planned terrorist attack launched by Danny.
