Ryan Anthony Peake (born March 1, 1973, Brooks, Alberta, Canada) is the Canadian lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the rock band, Nickelback. Other members of the band include lead singer and co-lead guitarist Chad Kroeger, bassist Mike Kroeger, and drummer Daniel Adair. Peake is the second oldest member of the band and has a wife and children. Peake has also been in the band since its inception.
Claiming Metallica and Megadeth as some of his earliest influences, he befriended the Kroeger brothers (Chad and Mike, that is) at school after his family relocated to the small Alberta farming community of Hanna. The three eventually began playing together in a covers band. In time, that band dissolved and the friends regrouped in 1996 as a post-grunge quartet named Nickelback around original songs Chad Kroeger had written on the side. Soon enough, constant airplay on Canadian radio stations helped Nickelback make quite a name for itself around the country, and after scoring a deal with U.S.-based Roadrunner Records, the band really broke out on American soil with their massive 2001 hit single "How You Remind Me."
