In 1974, Nash cut a second solo album, "Wild Tales", which was a far more dour and downbeat record than "Songs for Beginners", and got a mixed reception from critics and the public. Part of the reason for its downbeat mood, lost on most listeners, was the fact that the album had been done in the wake of the murder of Nash's girlfriend, Amy Gossage (On February 13th 1975, when she was 20).
