Radcliffe has always been a real wizkid when it comes to keeping his love life under wraps, and he deftly pulled the invisibility cloak over everyone's eyes when he quietly began dating the stepdaughter of a Harry Potter producer, Olive Uniacke. According to one collegue, "[Olive] was always in and out of his dressing room during filming, and she has always been really protective over him."For much of this year, he has been joined in New York by Olive Uniacke, the Gordonstoun-educated party girl he was linked to last year. Nevertheless, his spokesman denied this week that Olive is the girlfriend Radcliffe says he has been dating for the past eight months, while steadfastly refusing to name who it is. Why all the secrecy? The answer, it seems, lies in the persistent rumours that some senior figures surrounding the actor disapprove of the high-born but hard-partying Olive, who is rapidly developing a reputation for her wild living and loose tongue. Her father, City speculator Robie Uniacke, is a colourful former drug addict who divorced from the daughter of the late Earl of Carlisle, before marrying Olive’s mother, interior designer Rose Batstone. The scruffily-dressed Olive was with Radcliffe in St Petersburg and Moscow a year ago for a round of drunken celebrations to mark his 21st birthday. Olive also returned from New York in May to take up a post in London.
In the meantime, he’ll surely be hoping for a magical boost to his stalling Holywood career.
