Merv Straley (died 1984} was my father manager of Pixie Raceway and owner of Hobbyville Raceway. He you and I along with Lee Derr Ron Paris and others I can't remember traveled to races around southern California. I've often wondered how you have been doing. I just had the pleasure of viewing "The Learning Tree" again tonight after many, many years. I first saw the movie as a boy of 8 or 9 years old, and I've wanted to see it again for way to long. The character Newt was written with such strength and dignity and it impacted my life at a critical time. It helped inspire aspects of the man I would become. I love this film and I'm thankful for Gordon Park, Kyle Johnson, and the cast and crew for making it.
