Maxie Burns (born November 8, 1948) is an American politician and former Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from 2003 to 2005, representing Georgia's 12th congressional district. From 2011 to 2017 he served as president of Gordon State College in Barnesville, Georgia. On June 9, 2020 he won a Republican Primary for Georgia State Senate 23. Max Burns will face Democrat Ceretta Smith in the General Election on November 2, 2020.
